Create a Map.

This great site lets you create a map of any area of the world in your choice of six different projections. You can specify the features you want to appear on your map: country boundaries, cities, bathymetry and topography, plate boundaries by type (for example, ridges, trenches, transform faults), ocean drilling locations, and more. You can save your map in Postscript or Adobe Illustrator format, or simply use your browser's File–Save As function to save the image as a web page or the Save Picture As function to save it as a GIF file. This very useful tool can also be a lot of fun. The site uses a free, public domain software program called GMT (Generic Mapping Tools); you can visit the GMT home page for more information about the program.
